Fidelity Investments settled allegations that a third party accessed and obtained certain information without authorization on its computer network between August 17 and August 19, 2024, potentially exposing names, Social Security numbers, financial account information, and driver’s license information. Fidelity Investments denies any wrongdoing and the court made no finding of liability.

The Court has defined the Class this way: “All individuals within the United States of America to whom Fidelity provides notice of the Data Security Incident under relevant state law before the Notice Deadline associated with this Settlement, and all other individuals within the United States whose account number and routing number were exposed in the Data Security Incident (where joint accountholders had a single financial account number and routing number compromised, only one claim is permitted under the Settlement).”
How do you get paid?
All Class Members could claim a pro rata cash payment, which the settlement website expects to be $100.00 but states may be larger or smaller depending on the total claims filed. California residents could also claim a CCPA payment of $50.00, subject to the same adjustment. Documented out-of-pocket losses were reimbursable up to $5,000.00.
