Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia Pathway Plan Settlement

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia settled allegations that it misrepresented the scope of its healthcare provider network to consumers who purchased an individual or family Pathway health insurance plan beginning in the November 2015 open enrollment period for the 2016 plan year, and improperly required Pathway members to obtain a referral from a primary care physician in order to see a specialist for the 2019 plan year. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia denies any wrongdoing and the court made no finding of liability.

A settlement for Georgia residents enrolled in a BCBS-GA Pathway Plan between 2016 and 2022. The claim filing deadline of February 26, 2026 has passed.

How do you get paid?

The official site states that BCBS-GA agreed to create a $9.9 million settlement fund, which will be distributed to Settlement Class Members after first deducting any attorneys' fees and costs, notice and administration expenses and service awards that the Court awards. It does not publish a per-person amount.
