Labcorp AMCA Data Breach Settlement

Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings settled allegations that personal information Labcorp transmitted to American Medical Collection Agency was contained in AMCA's computer systems during a cybersecurity incident between approximately August 2018 and March 2019. Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings denies any wrongdoing and the court made no finding of liability.

A settlement over the 2018–2019 cybersecurity incident at American Medical Collection Agency (AMCA), which handled collections for Labcorp and whose systems were accessed without authorization. Affected individuals may be able to claim a cash payment or reimbursement of documented losses, plus medical-information monitoring.

Who is eligible

Individuals whose personal information Labcorp transmitted to Retrieval-Masters Creditor's Bureau, d/b/a American Medical Collection Agency, and whose information was in the AMCA systems implicated in the incident between approximately August 2018 and March 2019.

How you get paid

An Alternative Cash Payment estimated at $50 per person, or reimbursement of documented out-of-pocket losses up to $5,000. Claimants may also elect two years of CyEx Medical Shield Pro medical and healthcare information monitoring.

Proof required

The Alternative Cash Payment requires no documentation. Out-of-pocket loss claims require receipts or other non-self-prepared documentation, plus an attestation that the losses are fairly traceable to the incident.
