John Deere Repair Services Antitrust Settlement

Deere & Company settled allegations that it engaged in an anticompetitive scheme to withhold from customers and independent repair providers certain repair tools for Deere-manufactured Large Agricultural Equipment, so that customers were required to use Deere authorized Dealers for the diagnosis, maintenance and repair of their equipment and paid more than they should have. Deere & Company denies any wrongdoing and the court made no finding of liability.

A settlement of In re Deere & Company Repair Services Antitrust Litigation, over claims that John Deere withheld repair tools for its Large Agricultural Equipment so that customers had to use Deere authorized Dealers for repairs and paid more than they should have. The settlement consists of $99 million in cash, plus interest, and injunctive relief requiring Deere to make repair capabilities and tools available to farmers and independent repair providers. People and businesses who bought Repair Services for Deere Large Agricultural Equipment from John Deere or its authorized Dealers in the United States between January 10, 2018 and May 18, 2026 can file a claim for a pro rata share of the cash.

The Settlement Class includes all persons and entities who purchased Repair Services for Deere Large Agricultural Equipment from John Deere or its authorized Dealers in the United States between January 10, 2018 and May 18, 2026.

How do you get paid?

A pro rata share of the Net Settlement Fund under the Plan of Allocation, calculated from the total number of labor hours Deere authorized Dealers spent on Repair Services for your qualifying Large Agricultural Equipment during the Class Period, compared with all labor hours in valid claims. Repairs under an extended warranty you purchased count; repairs under Deere factory warranties do not. The injunctive relief applies to all members of the Settlement Class, regardless of whether they file a claim form.

What proof do you need?

A Claim Form listing each piece of equipment by its PIN. Many claimants receive a notice with a Notice ID and Confirmation Code giving access to repair data from John Deere; if your Repair Services are not in that data, or not all of them are, you need to provide records or documentation of the Repair Services for which you seek compensation.
