Communications Data Group, Inc. settled allegations that it and its co-defendants Duo County Telephone Cooperative Corporation, Inc., Cumberland Cellular, LLC, and Home Wireless, Inc. were responsible for a cyberattack discovered in February 2025 in which an unauthorized third party gained access to its systems and potentially impacted personally identifiable information, including names, addresses, dates of birth, driver’s license information, bank account information and Social Security numbers. Communications Data Group, Inc. denies any wrongdoing and the court made no finding of liability.

A proposed settlement over a cyberattack discovered in February 2025 on Communications Data Group, Inc.’s network, which potentially impacted personal information, including for customers of Duo County Telephone Cooperative Corporation, Cumberland Cellular and Home Wireless. Class Members can claim reimbursement of documented losses, credit monitoring, or an alternative cash payment by November 10, 2026.

You are potentially a Class Member if you reside in the United States and your Private Information was potentially impacted by the Data Incident, including if you were mailed a notification by or on behalf of the Defendants regarding the Data Incident; the official site states that to be eligible to make a Claim, you must have received a notice letter of the Data Incident. Employees, directors, officers and agents of the Defendants and their affiliates, governmental entities, and the Judge(s), their immediate family and Court staff are excluded.

How do you get paid?

Class Members may claim up to $5,000.00 for reimbursement of a documented loss, and may also claim three years of CyEx credit monitoring with one major credit bureau, including identity theft insurance up to $1,000,000.00. Instead, a Class Member may claim a one-time Alternative Cash Payment of $45.00, or credit monitoring alone. The benefits are funded by Communications Data Group, Inc.

What proof do you need?

A Documented Loss must be supported by Reasonable Documentation that you actually incurred unreimbursed out-of-pocket expenses, and must include a declaration under penalty of perjury that the statements and documentation submitted are true and correct.
