American Well Corp. settled allegations that it disclosed its customers’ medical information and confidential communications to third parties, without permission and in violation of the Federal Wiretap Act, the California Invasion of Privacy Act, the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act, the California Constitution, and common law. American Well Corp. denies any wrongdoing and the court made no finding of liability.

How do you get paid?

A pro rata (meaning equal) share of the Settlement Fund, estimated at approximately $51.14 to $102.29 per Settlement Class Member. The amount depends on how many Settlement Class Members file valid claims. Settlement administration expenses, attorneys’ fees and costs, and a Service Award are also paid from the fund.
