Twin Cities Pain Clinic settled allegations that during the July 2025 Data Incident, certain files that may have contained private information of its patients were accessed. Twin Cities Pain Clinic denies any wrongdoing and the court made no finding of liability.

A settlement of a class action over a business email compromise that targeted one Twin Cities Pain Clinic employee email account in July 2025. Files accessed may have contained names, dates of birth, contact details, financial account and health insurance information, Social Security numbers, medical records numbers and treatment notes. Class Members may claim credit monitoring and one of two cash payment options. The Court still has to decide whether to approve the settlement at the Final Approval Hearing on January 20, 2027.

All individuals in the United States who had Private Information accessed and/or acquired as a result of the Data Incident.

How do you get paid?

Class Members may claim two years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete credit monitoring plus one of two Cash Payment options: reimbursement of documented out-of-pocket losses of up to $4,500.00 for extraordinary losses (identity theft or fraud) or up to $450.00 for ordinary losses, incurred between July 9, 2025, and November 9, 2026; or a one-time flat cash payment expected to be $55.00. There is an aggregate cap of $385,000.00 on Cash Payment benefits; if claims exceed it, everyone’s payments will be reduced pro rata.

What proof do you need?

The flat cash payment requires no proof or explanation. A documented-loss claim requires proof, like bank statements or receipts, showing how much you spent or lost and that the expenses were because of the Data Incident; self-prepared notes alone are not enough.
